Gnome Version Notifier
Gnome on the run's Version Notifier for Joomla is a simple module that is for the administrator in Joomla to alert you to out of date Joomla releases. It is also integrated with the Jupdateman component, but not required. Use it to alert anyone with administration access if a version is out of date!

Installation
To install first download the file from here if you have not already. Then log into the administrator and go to the Extensions menu->Install/Uninstall. From this spot you can install the module by clicking Browse and locating the file. Then click Upload and Install. It will install the module by default as disabled in the left position. So you need to go to the Extensions->Module Manager area, then click on Administrator to pull up the admin modules and locate the new module called 'Version Notifier' and click on the title. Here you can enable the module, disable the title, and be sure to change the module position to 'status'. Save and the module will appear in the status area.
